  • What is phishing?

    Phishing is an internet scam whereby fraudsters send emails with the intention to collect critical personal and financial information. Phishing emails look genuine and appear to be coming from a legitimate source. However, they always contain a link to a fake website, asking you to provide an update or confirm sensitive personal information and/or have a warning stating that your card or account has been suspended and that you need to click a ‘secure’ link in order to activate or restore the use of your card or account.

    A phishing scam may also originate in different ways, and not just via a fake email. In some cases, you may encounter a pop-up advertisement when visiting certain unsafe websites or you may even receive a phone call from an unknown source, usually an international caller from an unfamiliar location. The fraudsters often use fear tactics to get their victims to take action and, in so doing, divulge their personal and financial information.

    How to protect yourself from phishing?

    Security Advice
    Always update your PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone system patches and security software from a trusted vendor (Antivirus, Anti Malware and Anti Spyware). Be careful when using a computer at a public place or one not having the latest security software.

    Always log out from your Bank One Internet Banking account by clicking on the ‘Log Out’ button (i.e., outgoing arrow on the top right corner of your screen) and following the instructions until you see the onscreen message ‘You have successfully logged out’. Close your browser window subsequently.

    Never store your password or account/card information on paper or electronically on Word, Excel or text documents. Always keep your devices (PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone) protected with a password/PIN.

    How do I transfer money to an existing beneficiary?

    Option 1: Go to Transfers > Select the Transfer Type > Click on Continue > Under Select Beneficiary click on Existing > Select beneficiary from All Beneficiaries list

    Option 2: Go to Transfers > Select the Transfer Type > Click on Manage Beneficiaries > Under Accounts select the beneficiary > Click on Send Money

    How do I view previous transactions?

    Go to My Financials > Select your account > View all your transactions under Transactions

    How do I view SWIFT requests that are not yet processed?

    Go to Scheduled Transfers to view your transactions scheduled for a future date.

    Yes, you can. Go to Transfers > Within Bank One > Click on Make Transfer > Under Transfer From select your account number > Under Transfer To select your credit card > Insert the amount > Click on Continue > Review your payment details and click on Transfer

    Where do I view my transactions on my mobile app?

    Option 1: My Financials > Select your account > Account Details > All transactions will be displayed under Transactions

    Option 2: My Financials > Select your account > Account Details > Click on the Transactions icon to generate your transactions between two dates

    Can I add a beneficiary on my mobile app?

    Go to Transfers > Select a Transfer Type > Click on Manage Beneficiaries > Click on Add Beneficiary

    Can I make a transfer without adding a beneficiary on my mobile app?

    Yes, you can.

    Go to Transfers > Select the Transfer Type > Click on Make Transfer > Under Transfer From select your account number > Click on Transfer to New Beneficiary

    What is the daily transfer limit?

    There’s no limit on the amount you can transfer, however a daily limit applies to instant transfers at Rs 100,000.

    Can I transfer funds abroad?

    Yes, you can.
    Go to Transfers > Select the Transfer Type> Click on Foreign Currency Transfer

    To whom I can transfer funds?

    You can transfer funds to anyone in Mauritius or abroad.

    What happens if I wrongly insert my sign in PIN?

    You will be prompted with an error message and your mobile app will be locked after 3 wrong attempts.

    Do I need to set a transaction PIN?

    No, in the new version of the Bank One Mobile Banking app, you no longer need to set a transaction PIN to validate transfers.

    How do I log out of my mobile app?

    Go to My Financials and click on the Logout button on the top right of your screen.

    How do I register on Bank One Mobile Banking App?

    • Download and install the app on your phone
    • Open the app, enter your username and password (same credentials you use for the new Internet Banking)

    Voila – You’re in!!
